Samuel Dodd's Sawmill

This numbered photograph, from the Archives at the First Presbyterian Church in Orange, shows that the Sawmill pond was a popular fishing spot as well as a source of power for the mill.

Those who see the Second River today are amazed that when dammed up, it could create such huge lakes as are shown on the oldest maps of the area, like the 1881 map shown below.
